Sarah Bush Lincoln Fayette County Hospital has received the American Heart Association’s Get With The Guidelines Rural Stroke Gold award for efforts to optimize stroke care and eliminate rural healthcare outcome disparities.
Rural Stroke Gold is a recognition program designed specifically to recognize hospitals serving rural communities. Rather than focusing on the standard achievement measure methodology, eligibility is based on performance in the Rural Acute Stroke Composite Score, which reflects performance across several stroke care processes important in rural settings.
“We are honored to be recognized by the American Heart Association for our commitment to quality stroke care,” SBL Fayette County Hospital CEO Karen Dyer said. “We pride ourselves on offering the most up-to-date care to our community, and this award reinforces that.”
This award symbolizes that SBL FCH ensures people experiencing a stroke receive timely treatment based on nationally recognized, research-based guidelines, helping to save lives and reduce disability.
